“We are not physical beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.”
― Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
Within the whirlwind of daily living, we can forget that our lives are more than an intersection of demands. They are Sacred callings—callings to service and faith, but also to wonder, connection, creativity, and growth. Spiritual direction invites us into our deeper Soul story, a story we may feel disengaged from, challenged by, or curious about in new ways. Whatever we're moving through at this time (e.g., questions, grief, transitions, celebrations), spiritual direction offers a softening welcome that entreats, "Sit...and feel all that's Holy in you again."
As an interfaith spiritual director, I offer compassionate witness, no matter where you are in your faith journey. Some call this witness holy listening. Others call it spiritual holding. Despite the name "spiritual direction," the process itself is decidedly non-directive. A Holy Presence inhabits the "third chair" of our gathering space and acts as the true director. In my role as a spiritual guide and companion, I invite you into contemplation of where you're at in your life story now and how the God of your understanding is meeting you there. I also support you in accessing an inner stillness--observing the healing, insight, and connection available to you in that space.
